Oh, Paris. The most romantic city in the world. Or no, that’s Venice to be fair. But hey, a second place is still fantastic, right?
A boat trip on the Seine, strolling on the Champs-Elysées, cuddling with your lover under the Eiffel Tower or sniffing up culture in the Louvre, … The city of light has something for everyone.
Personally, I love all the cliches about Paris. Having breakfast with croissants, lunch dates with baguettes and cheese, or enjoying the atmosphere at Montmartre with a glass of red wine. Why not? You’re in Paris, after all. The city always makes me think about the movie Amélie Poulain. The fact that Paris has such a rich history, makes me sincerely happy. Bonjour, writers and artists of the past!
Unfortunately, Paris isn’t one big magic (film) decor. Just like any big city, Paris looks crowded and dirty at some places, full of exhaust gases and pushy street vendors.
But hey, that shouldn’t spoil the fun. Audrey Hepburn once said “Paris is always a good idea”. And if Audrey said it, it must be true. Right?
A few travel tips:
- Hotels are often expensive, especially if you go in high season. On AirBnB you will find great sleeping places at a democratic price.
- If you travel from Brussels to Paris, Izy is a cheap way to travel by train.
- Paris is BIG. Subway tickets are not a luxury. By buying them in advance, you can win some time. That way you’re all prepared for your holiday in the City of Love!
